THIS QUARRY IS NOT A DONE DEAL

We know that placing this quarry here is sacrificing the current and future communities of Wallan and Beveridge – our health and the health of our children – for only a very small economic gain to benefit a tiny group of interests.

It's not too late to have your say - get involved now and tell the State Government NO QUARRY for Beveridge/Wallan.

Do you have a toy truck at home? If so, bring it with you to Parliament - our aim is to gather 120 toy trucks to demonstrate how many extra trucks this quarry will bring to our local roads every day.

UNITED VOICE AGAINST QUARRY

Residents plea to have their concerns heard

More than 70 residents from Beveridge and Wallan attended a community forum in Wallan recently to voice their concerns and find out what they could do to be heard.

There was an overwhelming sense of frustration among residents as they voiced their frustration at the lack of consultation and opportunities to be heard.

Health, traffic, noise, vibrations and environmental impacts were among the issues raised.

Members of Mitchell's Youth Council brought a younger voice to the table with the impacts on health, the environment and essential infrastructure of most concern.

TRAFFIC LIGHT DEMONSTRATION

Motorists support group for highlighting impact of lights on Northern Highway

Members of the NO QUARRY Community Working Group braved a chilly early morning for a traffic light demonstration on The Northern Highway last week.

The group was met with many toots and headlight flickers of support from fellow motorists who don't want to be stopped by another set of traffic lights on the Northern Highway during their commute.

Congestion and safety concerns around the proposed traffic light to service the quarry is one of the most controversial issues in the community surrounding the proposal.

The group were rewarded with coverage on Page 2 of North Central Review.

If you are concerned about how close this quarry is going to be to homes, schools, kindergartens or any other important places now is the time to make your voice count and to let your MPs know.

The more voices we have the more chance we have of being heard. So write those letters and emails and pick up the phone – and tell State Government NO QUARRY for Beveridge / Wallan.
