CAMPING IN CYPRUS
 

Most people think of the coast if they want to camp, and the coastal campsites like the one at Polis beach and Govenors beach, are perfect for the cooler months but very popular in high summer. However if you want a little more peace and quiet and in my opinion far better scenery, head for the mountains!

The air is so much cooler above 800m and you will sleep far better in the fresh air of the mountains.

Places to camp in Cyprus
  1. Plantania Kakopetria - Situated 8km from Troodos square, near Platania Foresty Office. A small site providing, 35 camping spots and 17 caravans spaces. Open year round for caravans and from June to September for tents. 5.00 euro per day for a caravan and 3.00 euro per day for a tent.
  2. Troodos Campsite - Situated amidst a pine forest, 2km north of the Troodos Hill Resort, off the main Troodos – Kakopetria road. Open from May till end of October (weather permitting).
  3. Happy Valley - Situated In Happy Valley Episkopi, near the saddle club and just a stones throw from Lemmings beach. Happy Valley Campsite is open to entitled personnel only and is open all year round. see the poster below for details...
  4. Polis - 37 km from the town of Pafos, the campsite is situated on the beach in a pleasant eucalyptus grove, (500 metres from Polis town centre). It has a capacity for 200 tents. The site has toilets, showers and washroom facilities for dishes etc. There is a launderette in the nearby town of Polis. There is a snack bar on the beach and a mini market is open from June to August. Open from March till the end of October (maybe longer, weather permitting).
  5. Governor's Beach - Situated on the beach, 20km east of Limassol with a capasity of 360 tents/caravans. Open all year round.
