EdTech Asia's First Regional Summit

EdTech Asia will host our first regional EdTech Summit on July 30-31 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will bring together key stakeholders in the Asian EdTech entrepreneurship, investment, and innovation ecosystems to explore the shifting dynamics and highlight trends and opportunities within the Education and EdTech sectors. The limited capacity event will feature 40+ speakers, 26 sessions, 4 workshops, an evening networking party, and 200 attendees including founders of notable regional EdTech companies such as Zenius, ELSA, Taamkru, Cialfo, ZapZap, Flipped, Dyad, Classting, Topica, Quipper, Gnowbe, SkillLane, Playnote, and more. The summit will feature a Startup Showcase and an EdTech Asia Awards ceremony to acknowledge excellence in the regional EdTech entrepreneur and innovation ecosystem.

Developers Drive Innovation at EdTech Asia's Hanoi Hackathon 

Edtech entrepreneurs representing 19 teams gathered in Hanoi for the first EdTech Asia Hackathon of 2016. The event, organized in cooperation with Topica EdTech Group and sponsored by Facebook and Google Vietnam, brought together a diverse mix of education innovators who worked over a 24 hour period to produce functional prototypes. EduAwards Announces Top Startups for Asia and Africa

The five most innovative EdTech startups from Asia and Africa as selected by education innovation and investment leaders were acknowledged at the KINSES 2016 in Dubai earlier this year. EdTech companies Instafeez, Kidaptive, Kytabu, Siyavula, Vedantu with honorable mentions Uolo and Ruangguru, were presented awards by the Kaizen PE and judging teams.

 
 
 
 
 

Vietnam's GOTIT! App Showing Strong Growth in North America

Silicon Valley and Hanoi based GOTIT! app has raised 9 million USD in seed and series A funding to grow its on-demand academic question-answer service. EdTech Events, Workshops, & Contests

 

1. Echelon, one of Asia's largest startup and entrepreneurship events, will take place June 15-16, 2016 in Singapore. The event will feature an EdTech session highlighting speakers from Cialfo and Topica EdTech Group moderated by EdTech Asia. Program information and tickets available here.

 

3. Google, SEAMEO Innotech, Pearson, and EdTech Asia have partnered with the Philippine Educational Measurement and Evaluation Association (PEMEA) to support the International Conference on Educational Measurement and Evaluation. Program information is available here.

 

2. Growth Hacking Asia has announced a specially designed 2-day EdTech startup bootcamp to to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on August 1-2, 2016. The hands-on bootcamp provide EdTech startup founders with the tools to take their company to the next level quickly. Program details and registration information can be found here.

 
 

4. The Global EdTech Startup Awards are accepting applications for startup contests to take place in July. The awards will identify, showcase, and recognize the world's most promising EdTech startups for 2016. The first place team will earn 20K USD and an opportunity to access EdTech accelerators in New York, Tel Aviv, London, Bogota, and Barcelona.
