Plett - It's a feeling

Hello there...

Plett Tourism will be introducing its new brand in the next couple of weeks, but in the meanwhile the new logo and payoff line – “It’s a feeling” – is becoming visible in many places!

We are supporting, in various ways, a number of events that are taking place in the next few months. Each of them, in their own way, captures a slice of the Plett feeling, that special something that draws visitors to this beautiful bay – and keeps them coming back.

The Tour de Plett (www.tourdeplett.co.za) takes place on the 22nd June and offers cyclists three routes through some of South Africa’s most beautiful – and challenging – mountain bike trails.

The Wedge Classic takes place from the 3rd to 5th July, and you can find out more at www.facebook.com/wedgeclassic or www.offthehookplett.co.za. In particular, get a feeling for the edgy positioning developed by one2love (Samuel Sampi Kamffer) with organisers Louise Craig and Patty Butterworth!

The Site_Specific 2nd international Land Art Biennale takes place from the 10th to 17th August. Invited artists, South African and international, will be staying at the Beacon Island Resort for the duration of the event. Go to www.sitespecific.org.za and check out, amongst many things, an awesome video produced by Daron Chatz Studios.

In addition to these events, Plett Tourism has supported two consumer and trade show initiatives. Patty Butterworth represented Plett at Indaba, and we’ll share some thoughts that came out of Durban in the coming weeks. We are also supporting a group of local tourism operators who are taking Plett to the upcoming South African Wedding Show in Cape Town in a couple of weeks. It’s intended that this intervention is the first step of an on-going programme to bring a much larger slice of the multi-billion Rand wedding market to Plett!

This will give you a feeling for what we are working on and how we are positioning Plett! And there is more to tell in the next short while … other events confirmed and then some on the drawing board for 2014.

In the meanwhile, watch out for something special in CXpress in the next couple of weeks that takes the “Plett feeling” a step further!

Best regards,
