Click here Vol 23 No 5 06 October 2017 Larks at Larch HillOn 26 September the whole of Form 1 went on a visit to Larch Hill with our Form Teachers, Year Head, and some of the Pastoral Care Team. When we arrived, we were split into eight teams and set off to do several activities including archery, orienteering, grass sledging, an obstacle course, and team building activities. It was a lovely day; the weather was great. Everyone was cheerful and helped each other complete the tasks. It was a fun-filled day that we won't soon forget. Biology Field-TripOn 25-26 September, Form 6 Biology classes went to Portrane Beach as part of our ecology field trip. For our Leaving Certificate Biology examination, we must study 'The Ecology of the Rocky Seashore'. As soon as we arrived, everyone went ahead, observing and studying the variety of diverse marine wildlife, from animals to plants and seaweeds. Everyone noted the abundance of organisms and drew sketches and took notes to examine once we returned to The High School. Following a brief ice cream stop in 'Scrumdiddlys' in Portrane, we headed back to school with our findings. The day was very interesting and informative and really brought the subject to life! European Languages WeekPupils enjoyed a number of fun activies as part of European Languages Week. With displays and quizzes in the Library, singing and dancing at Assembly, everyone got to savour the many delights of studying a European language at The High School. Irish Music AppreciationTháinig John Spillane go dtí An Ard Scoil ar an aoine seo caite chun ceardleann a dhéanamh. Chan sé cupla amhrán as Gaeilge agus ceann amháin as Béarla, agus ghlac daltaí as gach bhliain páirt sa cheolchoirm. Nuair a chríochnaigh John, chan cupla daltaí amhráin. Bhí an ocáid ar fheabhas agus bhain gach duine taitneamh as. Ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil le John Spillane, Cumann Gaelach na hEaglaise agus gach dalta a ghlac páirt.
