February 2018 No Images? Click here Despite several weather delays, February was a busy month for ribbon cuttings at GUY, with celebrations held at four bridges. Click each photo for more information about that project.Bridge #8 Design Lowers Project CostsThe recently completed Bridge #8 in Washington County consists of two 32ftx9ft precast concrete arch culverts with a modified alignment and lower profile. This design helped reduce project cost by avoiding a high-pressure gas line. In addition, the design allowed contractors flexibility in the type of wingwalls, which also helped reduce the project cost. GUY WINS by losingFor the last two months, GUY employees have been participating in a wellness challenge focused on developing healthy habits such as avoiding sugar, getting regular exercise, and drinking plenty of water. At the end of the challenge, the 27 participants had lost a collective 95 pounds! In honor of our achievements, we will be donating twice that many pounds of potatoes, 190, to a local food bank. |
