I would like to thank everyone who helped me to organize and carry out this year’s NATO Ball. It was truly a pleasure working with all of you as one team. It was a fantastic event at a beautiful location. I really enjoyed seeing so many Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines from all the different nations with their awesome looking uniforms. Being part of a team made up of different cultures, different backgrounds, and different experiences is a very unique experience. As I already mentioned in my welcome speech at the Ball, this teaches all of us, among other things, cultural sensitivity, respect for different perspectives and worldviews, and strengthens our ability to interact and network with people from diverse backgrounds. The staff at Villa Viola Eventi prepared an outstanding dinner and provided great service. We all had a wonderful evening while we were dancing under the stars and enjoying each other’s company. I would like to pass on the very positive feedback I have received to all of you who made this event happen. A special thanks goes out to French Army Warrant Officer 1 Pascale Martin, as my committee leader. I enjoyed working with each and every one of you and I look forward working with you on upcoming events. On the topic of things on the horizon, we are in the process of standing up an Other Rank Association (OR-A). The purpose of the JFC OR-A is to enhance community spirit by providing all our members of all services and nationalities at JFC Naples with opportunities to meet together in a spirit of goodwill and friendship. This will take place through volunteer events and social activities proposed and/or approved by the members. The JFC OR-A is a self-sustaining non-profit community requested activity operating under the legal personality of JFC Naples, established for the benefit of its members. We already started to sell the prints donated by U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael P. "Spike" Solovey. All the money raised through this sale will be only used to support other rank activities for many years to come. In the name of all other ranks personnel, I would like to thank Solovey for donating the prints and the great support to our association. The summer rotation is coming up. For all of you who are departing JFC Naples, I would like to thank you personally for all you have done during your time here. I wish you and your families all the best for the future and safe travels wherever you may go. I would like to welcome all the newcomers and their families to this headquarters. I look forward to working with you and hopefully I will meet you on our newcomer’s day on Aug. 28. I would like to wish everyone else to have a nice summer vacation, enjoy the time with your families and loved ones, recharge your batteries and get ready for the upcoming challenges.
