Read it here >> The epic week that was National Child Protection WeekIn support of NCPW our CyberReport team focused their efforts exclusively on combatting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), deleting it at the source. The team achieved record-breaking results, referring 4,693 images for takedown, preventing 46 million page views per day of child abuse content and completing a record 1,002 investigations into CSAM. Read it here >> What’s Your Story? poster competition is back“What’s Your Story?” is a poster competition open to children between the ages of 5-12 in AU and NZ. The competition encourages young people to think about important online issues as well as learn to advocate for them. This year’s theme is: ‘We are connecting to the internet in more ways than ever, so what would you do to make the internet a safer place?’ There are incredible prizes to be won for students and schools, so get creating! Our friends at Interrelate are running a short film competition that encourages students around Australia to create a three minute film addressing ‘mental health in the digital age – staying cybersafe.’ This is a great opportunity for young people to embrace creativity, drive important conversations and win great prizes, including a leadership and film boot camp. Remove Hate from the Debate! The NSW Government has recognised and is concerned about the rise of online hate speech and the impact this is having on social cohesion and young people—also evident in our recent research. Multicultural NSW’s latest campaign enforces that everyone is entitled to live a life free of hate. We all want to live in a peaceful and harmonious society, and this includes in the online space.
