Inspiring Women Doll Series Barbie and Girls Write Now are teaming up for a writing contest in honor of Isabel Allende. Allende's books tell the stories of inspiring girls and women—and now it's your turn! Write a story about a girl, woman, or gender expansive individual who discovers their power(s)—whether real, fictional, or even magical. This contest is open to all youth ages 9-18 based in the United States.

that she loves working with Girls Write Now, and sharing advice we stand by: "Write like nobody is looking...because writing is a place to go to strengthen your relationship with yourself...don't censor, don't self-edit, and the rest will fall into place." In Rupi's honor, the Kelly Clarkson Show and Frixion donated $1,000 to Girls Write Now.

The Writer's CenterCompass Fellowship If you're a writer or an aspiring writer looking for where to go next, The Writer's Center Compass Fellowship is a great place to start! This renewed fellowship program will introduce a new writer each year to the Writer's Center, to help guide them
along the next steps on their path, with $1000 in credits toward any TWC workshops within a two-year period, a $300 cash stipend, and opportunities to be published in The Writer's Center Magazine and featured in TWC events.
Autumn House PressRising Writer Prize The 2025 Rising Writer Prize is for a first full-length book of fiction (the 2026 prize will be for a first book of poetry). The Autumn House staff and select outsider readers will serve as the preliminary readers, and the final judge is K-Ming Chang. The winner receives publication of their full-length manuscript and $2,000. The submission period closes
on November 15, 2024 ET. The winner and the contest's finalists will be announced by March 15, 2025.
