NEWS & PRESS

Kelly Clarkson & Rupi Kaur Champion Girls Write Now

Featuring Girls Write Now on International Day of the Girl

For International Day of the Girl, Rupi Kaur proudly championed our writers on the Kelly Clarkson Show, declaring that she loves working with Girls Write Now, and sharing advice we stand by: "Write like nobody is looking...because writing is a place to go to strengthen your relationship with yourself...don't censor, don't self-edit, and the rest will fall into place."  In Rupi's honor, the Kelly Clarkson Show and Frixion donated $1,000 to Girls Write Now.

Prompt of the Week

by Morgan Parker, Friday Night Salon Artist

How is your fake self different from your true self? What causes you to perform for your fake self? Write about an experience you've had in which you needed to perform a fake version of yourself or a time when you were able to be your true self.

Learn how vulnerability through writing can give way to a deeper examination of societal issues with poet and writer Morgan Parker.
