50 Things to do in nature competition

DOC is celebrating 50 years of conservation! ’50 things’ is a shout out to kiwi kids who love to play outside and in nature.

We are asking all kiwi kids to share their favourite activities – at the beach, the river, local parks and back yards – wherever they love to spend time outside. The ideas from our tamariki will contribute to a poster of 50 things that make up a classic kiwi childhood.

Keep your eyes peeled for a special Pitopito Kōrero coming soon with more information on getting involved!

Kiwi Guardians Adventures & Activities

Teachers and leaders of groups with more than five children doing a Kiwi Guardians adventure or action can now follow a group redemption process!

You will recieve a double-sided certificate for each child in the group, and the group will receive one wooden medal along with information on how to receive their own.

Local spotlights....

Attention Northland schools! Here's an exciting opportunity to explore your neighbourhood this Conservation Week

For Conservation Week 2019 we want to learn about every living creature that can be found in our Northland neighbourhoods, with the big focus being on PLANTS!!

Head into your back garden, walk the streets to your local dairy, or better yet, get out to the beaches, the streams and the forests. Snap photos of everything you see along the way, and upload them to your account.

From Saturday 14th September to Sunday 22nd September every observation you make will automatically load to this project. The more observations you make the greater the chance you have of winning some awesome prizes.

Win a stream testing kit or Chromebook!

Taupō for Tomorrow has been delivering freshwater education for well over 10 years and thought it was time to check in with teachers to see if they are still doing it right!

Anyone can take the survey, whether you've worked with or thinking of working with Taupō for Tomorrow, if you're teachers or not, even if you've never heard of them - they want to hear it all! It will take less than 10 minutes and you go into a draw to win either  a stream testing kit for your school, or a chromebook (winner's choice)!
