Completed Projects

Herbert Smith Freehills

In March 2016, arete completed the Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) Head Office at 101 Collins Street, Melbourne.

The refurbishment on Level 42 features a 6m travertine reception desk, stone clad wall and Italian marble flooring. Also included as part of the works was the refurbishment of meeting and conference rooms. arete staged the construction programme to ensure minimal disruption to HSF’s daily operations, with portions of the works occurring out of hours.

arete and the consultant team including Bates Smart architects successfully worked together to provide a well appointed, contemporary refurbishment which we hope can be enjoyed by Herbert Smith Freehills and their clients for years to come.

Renault Australia Head Office

In conjunction with Evolve Project Management, arete has developed a Level 9 showroom that embraces the striking modern design of Renault's finest vehicles and is sure to impress. The polished showroom doubles as Renault's Head office is credit to the architects at PTID. With white American oak features, crisp white benches and vibrant splashes of colour, Renault's head office and showroom is inviting and functional.

arete was engaged under a design & construct contract and installed a car lift that raises vehicles from the carpark below - leaving new clients stunned as to the presence of display vehicles in the Level 9 office. Training rooms adjacent to the car lift not only provide space for the inspection of vehicles but also offer knowledge of Renault's extensive manufacturing history through vast wall graphics.

We look forward to future projects with Evolve Project Management and the wider project team.

ISPT Display Suite

arete has worked tirelessly to produce an impressive display suite for ISPT Property Fund Managers. Working with Alpha Project Management and with designers Gray Puksand Architects, arete produced a clean and modern space in a succinct construction period. Boasting state of the art organic response lighting, marble bench tops, and partitioning planter walls, the ISPT Display Suite is ready to demonstrate the potential of future office spaces for ISPT clients.

Plaza Premium Lounge

arete has recently completed the Plaza Premium Airline Lounge at Brisbane Airport International Terminal. The Lounge was designed by Mitch Squires Associates in Hong Kong and locally documented by Gray Puksand who were engaged by arete on a design & construct basis. The Lounge has large free standing Victorian ash timber feature screens and ceilings which were assembled on site by the arete team. Stone finishes, a full commercial kitchen, toilets and showers also formed part of the works. The arete team worked airside for the final five weeks of the project and despite challenging conditions achieved an impressive result. We are looking forward to further works nationally with Plaza Premium.

Singapore Airlines Lounge

arete has also completed the new Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge within the Brisbane Airport International Terminal. The Lounge features a gold coloured steel space frame, stone and terrazzo finishes and high spec furniture which provides a modern take on the traditional airline lounge. The arete project team led by Project Manager Bryan Clarke worked collaboratively with Singapore based architects ONG&ONG and international consultants to produce a first class result for Singapore Airlines. The Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge officially opened in late May.

Superdry Pacific Fair

Superdry is one of the jewels in the crown of the new Pacific Fair Shopping Centre development. Located next to the new H&M, the Superdry store was completed by arete in early May. The fitout incorporates natural timber cladding, a rolled sheet steel shopfront and six metre ceilings with exposed services – reflecting the urban aesthetic of Superdry’s brand. A tight project timeline and challenging design elements were met by the project team ensuring the store was ready for it official opening (to a long line of eager customers!)

The project team including led by Scott Coubrough and Peter Huston from arete worked through challenging design elements to complete this flagship store for the international brand.

Alice McCall Pacific Fair

arete are pleased to announce the completion of the new Alice McCall boutique at the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast. With design by Prospace Design Studios the store includes a feature steel decorative shopfront and panelling and Italian marble flooring and counter which reflects the eclectic style of the brand.

The Pacific Fair store is the first for Alice McCall in Queensland and forms part of the $670m redevelopment of the Pacific Fair retail precinct.

The state of the art medical centre will extend over two floors - connected via a centrally located spiral staircase with a curved glass balustrade. The facility will also include consulting and treatment rooms, staff offices and amenities.

Works are currently progressing well onsite with all partitions, ceilings and joinery installed as well as a 3.5 metre timber screen which will serve as a feature to the patient awaiting and reception areas. The Medical One project is due for completion in July.

Grill’d Rollout

The new Grill’d restaurant at Casuarina Square in Darwin is one of three restaurants in construction by arete for leading burger outlet Grill’d. arete has also been awarded the new two storey Grill’d restaurant in Geelong, Victoria. Works are progressing well on these projects which are due for completion mid year.

PappaRich Casuarina

PappaRich at Darwin’s Casuarina Square is the site for arete’s first project with international restaurant franchise PappaRich. The Malaysian restaurant includes timber feature ceilings and timber and tiled floors. Site Manager Jon Brandenberg (ex. Kane) and the arete Queensland project team will deliver the works, carefully managing the unique requirements of the project’s remote location. Designed by Melbourne designers Architects EAT the PappaRich restaurant is set to be an exciting addition to the Casuarina entertainment precinct.

Mad Mex Rollout

arete has been engaged to complete two fitouts for Mexican eatery Mad Mex at Darwin’s Casuarina Square and Queensland’s Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre.

arete is working alongside consultants McCreadie Group on Mad Mex fitout at Casuarina Square which is currently in construction and will open to the public mid-year.

Mad Mex restaurant at Sunshine Plaza on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast required ‘out of the box’ construction methods due to the restaurant’s location - partially suspended over water. arete successfully delivered the 'one of a kind' fitout earlier this year.

We look forward to further projects with the Mad Mex group.
