Good morning, everyone! I hope you're fully recovered from SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! I didn't have a team in the running but at least the game stayed competitive, and what a comeback, ehh? The last quarter was AWESOME!!! As an Arizona Cardinals fan, I'm hopeful that we'll make some moves in the off season that will better our chances of getting to the post season. We shall see! But you didn't come here for football, did you? Let's continue our discussion about class actions!
So, here we are with our class action lawsuit. It was filed, certified by a judge, and the defendants said, "STOP! We don't want to risk the expense of litigating this case! Let's figure out a solution!" The plaintiff attorneys and defense counsel worked out an
agreement and the presiding judge APPROVED it! FANTASTIC! Now what happens? The answer: GREAT things!
The attorneys work together to agree on a settlement administrator. Once that happens, both sides work to draft the notice, which informs all of the affected class about the settlement, and they include Top Class Actions as part of the notification plan. That way the settlement is included in our Open Settlements
section and shared with super awesome potential claimants, like YOU! The settlement administrator also puts up the website to accept claims. Typically, within three to six months the settlement OPENS FOR CLAIMS! You'll typically get 90-120 days to submit a claim. Sometimes more, sometimes less, it all depends on what's agreed upon. Once the claims period closes, we hit the magic window where we wonder when checks will go out. Will there be Objections? Objectors can delay payment of claims for months, if not years. Once all of the objections have been handled, authorization by the court is made to start paying all of you amazing people! Usually, checks start going out within three to six months of the claims period ending. If it's a BIG settlement or there's some controversy and a bunch of objections, it can be a year or more, but it's usually not THAT
long.
Once the checks come out, we ask you to head to our Facebook page and post a picture of your check, letting us know! Make sure to black out the personal details! Let's celebrate those payments together! That wraps it up! I greatly simplified the class action process, but in a nutshell, that covers it! Send any questions you have to us at questions@topclassactions.com. Nicole will get back to you within a business day!
OK, on to more lawsuit and settlement updates!
That's all for now! I'm off to take Aubrey to soccer practice. It's supposed to be cold (60 degrees) so I have to wear a jacket! BRRR! Cold weather in Phoenix LOL! Make it a GREAT week!
Warm Regards,
