Note From The RE

First and foremost, I hope all of you are staying healthy and safe!

You are reading this on what should have been the eve of our first Autocross event of the season, and the second event for our Region in 2020.  Instead, this is just another Saturday night that we're all social distancing and staying apart.

I chose Chris Brown's mustang wrap picture for the cover this month as it seemed fitting -- his car went through a major transformation, like all of us have this year.  This is something none of us have ever experienced, and hopefully, we'll never have to again!

Unfortunately, we're postponing 2 more events for the season.  The Rallycross event on May 2, as well as the Autocross event on May 9 won't be taking place.  The board voted to postpone both - as your health and safety is our main concern.

Read through the entire Squeal this month - I put something fun in there for us to do as a community, and there's even some event discounts available for the winners!

Coloring Contest!

Since none of us are able to go out and enjoy our cars or each other, I've been trying to think of something fun that we can all do as a Region.  I came up with a coloring contest.  Here's why - coloring relieves stress, it's fun and mindless, and it's something that we can do together or as a family.  Plus - there's an added incentive - we will be judging these and the top three winners get discounts off of a future Susquehanna event.  You can make some money while de-stressing!

Rules:

1. Please pick from one of the choices in the below PDF file. **(This is a BIG file so please be patient!)**  Put your name on it, color it, and send it back in to me at mmauro@scca-susq.com (where a panel of us will judge the work).
2. Feel free to color as many as you want, send in as many as you want (send one in from everyone in your family) - but we're only going to judge 1 per member.
3. You can do these digitally (if you're so inclined) - but please make sure you make it look like you colored it - we need a level playing field.
4. Please submit these by email ONLY (I'm going to put them all together when we're done) - no later than May 16, 2020.
5. The winners will be announced in the next Squeal and on Facebook after that.
6. HAVE FUN!!

If You Can - Why Not Give Back?

Just a thought:  why not set aside a portion of the money you (the Competitor) were going to spend on entry fees, tires, traveling & whatnot for the events that the club cancelled and send it to a local charity?  Here in Harrisburg, the local food bank could use some help, or the Salvation Army and others.  And, there are many national organizations such as the American Red Cross and Volunteers of America stepping up to help with the situation.   Now is not the time to think inwardly.  Look at the big picture.  This is no government "program", no one is looking over your shoulder, no one is going to judge us if we do or we don't; but,  if you can, send help.

April Regional Meeting

This month’s membership meeting will be for the Board members, as well as the Autocross and Rallycross Chairs ONLY.  The meeting will be a remote webinar/phone meeting.  Keep an eye out for the meeting Minutes as they are posted online.
