The program is aimed at helping people tackle day-to-day pressures using practical techniques and providing skills that equip you for life. The sessions can be provided over the phone, via Skype or in person.

New data quality tool for general practices
CESPHN has identified another tool for practices to extract and analyse their data. The POLAR suite of reporting tools allows practices to review and audit their data, and supports quality improvement activities, improved planning and medical management of patients, improved patient outcomes and optimised use of MBS items.

Building a successful partnership: general practice and hospital working together as a team
This exciting workshop aims to improve quality of care for chronic disease patients, through more effective communication between primary and tertiary health providers; with the long-term goal being to reduce the incidence of hospitalisation.

Cancer Shared eCare Plan with Cancer Services, St George Hospital
The Centre for Primary Health Care, UNSW and SESLHD Cancer Services seek General Practitioners to help to develop a Cancer Shared eCare Plan. We are looking for GPs who are interested in providing input into the eCare Plan development. GPs will be reimbursed $120 per hour to provide advice and/or join the steering committee and $300 to participate in the stakeholder Specifications Workshop.

Event: Mental Health in Immigrant Communities
This CPD event has an expert line up of mental health professionals who will explain the process of identifying and assessing psychological stressors acting on recently arrived refugees and immigrants, how to manage the psychological effects of torture and trauma from the refugee experience, and what referral pathways exist for mental health and migrant services in the Canterbury area.

Get Healthy at Work
As part of Get Healthy at Work, SLHD are providing free, brief, confidential health checks for staff. These are non-invasive, 15-minute checks provided by a trained health professional to identify staff at high risk for diabetes and heart disease. SLHD staff that are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease will be referred to their local practitioner for a management plan.
