Congrats! We all made it through the first half of the year. How? Who knows? But we conquered and now it's shorts weather! Apologies to my friends down under. I'm sure you're all rugged up indoors sipping a mulled wine whilst reading up on this Dashing Hounds update.

It's been a busy few months for me. The usual hustling and making new connections. NYC is full of surprises and you'll never know what you're going to find or encounter. It sure keeps me on my toes and allows me to share my adventure with you all. I finally feel like I'm becoming a New Yorker.

Last month I brunched at La Esquina in Williamsburg with a bunch of babes who are making moves in menswear! #mensweardontcare was started up by two incredible ladies, Hilliary Latham and Sarvie Nasseri. A networking event held quarterly to aid ladies working in menswear to stay connected.

Nothing sounds more fun than schmoozing with people who share the same passion and speak the same menswear jargon!

Everyone meet Grad.student Sam Baker. I had the pleasure taking him on a personal shopping adventure last month before he attended a 3-day networking conference . My highlight of the shopping day was Sam standing in front of the mirror and turning to me to say, "I've never looked this good before Caz!" It brought a tear to my eye and again it affirmed why I love my job and do what I do.

With a student budget, I managed to help Sam find a few essentials. Button downs, tees, shorts and shoes from a few of my favourites; SKU, Steven Alan, and Club Monaco. I even got him into a pair of Japanese selvedge Levis! Within a few hours Sam was feeling confident and ready for his big conference. FYI, he landed a job!

I'm excited that my good friends at The Selvedge Yard in New Hope PA are hosting the coolest event this Summer. They'll be teaming up with NZ apothecary line Triumph & Disaster.

WHEN? Saturday July 30th 6-9pm.

WHERE? The Selvedge Yard, 110 Main St. New Hope PA.

HOW? Dress up in your coolest get up. Think Kenickie and Rizzo from Grease or Ponyboy and the greasers from The Outsiders.

Best dressed WINS a trip for 2 to New Zealand, announced by T&D Founder and cricketing legend, Dion Nash!

We hit up Men's NY Capsule Show earlier this month to represent Aussie leather goods line Mr.Elk. The brand is born and bred in Melbourne and produced by ethical manufacturers using sustainble practices. Buyers, editors and bloggers from around the globe came to scope out new brands and latest the collections. The feedback for Mr.Elk was exceptionally positive for the collection of mens leather backpacks, satchels and duffel bags. Guys shall I go on? Do yourself a favour!

Looking forward to the next upcoming Capsule Show in Viva Las Vegas, 15-17th August to represent NZ Apothecary line Triumph & Disaster.
