Spring BreakThe school will close for Spring Break from Monday, March 26 through Friday, March 30. We hope our families enjoy this extra time together, and look forward to seeing you in April. Thank You, Ms. DianaAs Ms. Diana concluded her final week as the Director of UDA, our students sent her off with a beautiful Visual Arts creation representing their love and support. Middle School Field DayOur middle school students had a ball while playing ball at Field day last Wednesday! The students engaged in collaboration and team building skills while playing volleyball, football, soccer, and kickball, as well as capture the flag and a variety of relay games. Thank you to Coach Lynch and our parent volunteers for organizing and running this event. Book FairWe are excited to share that our recent Scholastic book fair raised $4,000 in Scholastic funds that UDA will be able to use towards new books for the library! ELAC MeetingOn Tuesday, April 3, UDA’s English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) will meet from 3:45-4:45pm in the conference room. The primary functions of this committee are to make recommendations regarding programming and supports offered by the school to English Learners, identify potential school-related challenges faced by students and families and offer resources, and increase the voice and participation of underrepresented families. This meeting is open to all families. We hope to see you there! Third GradeThird graders have been busy creating persuasive commercials for the Whiz Kid Advertising Agency. To put a creative spin on the learning process for writing a persuasive essay, students worked in teams to produce the boldest, brightest, most convincing commercials to sell tasty treats! Visual ArtsStudents in 1st grade are working on self portraits and our 4th graders are experimenting with rubbing alcohol and Sharpies in their visual arts creations. Students who wear their Earth Day or March for Science t-shirts to the UDA Earth Day event will receive 2 free tickets. Admission is free, however, some games and snacks will require tickets ($1 per ticket). Meeting Minutes Used Uniform Donations Middle School Skate Night Top Notch LunchesTo order a hot lunch for your child, first create an account with Top Notch. User accounts from last year do not carry over, so all parents must register for the 2017-2018 year. To register, click on “Order Online Today” from the homepage, then select “Register.” On this page, you will need to enter the password for UDA, which is URA6. Upon entering the password, you will be able to complete the registration process by creating your own username and password. Families that meet the free or reduced qualification according to this form will receive discounted Top Notch lunches. The discount will be automatically applied to each order. Online orders must be placed by 6pm on the day before the lunch delivery. Top Notch can not supply lunches requested after this deadline.
