Click here Workplaces Coffee RouletteNow that the world is more virtual, the face-to-face networking opportunities are more limited, so we are providing a way for Members to get to know other Workplace Members beyond the quarterly meetingsA word from StephI don’t want to sounds like a cliché and say the usual “how is it late February already”, but HOW IS IT LATE FEBRUARY ALREADY? I have spent the beginning of the year connecting with a lot of members both new and long-term, designing the WayAhead Workplaces events and initiatives and most recently, I was lucky enough to spend a week down the South Coast with my family. It was a pretty amazing break, despite the average weather, and allowed me to refill my cup that I didn’t actually know was nearing the bottom. I guess that’s the thing with depletion or burnout, it can catch you by surprise. The good news is, I am back and refuelled! And now have some exciting updates from WayAhead. Our February member meeting was on Wednesday 24 Feb, and we heard from the amazing team at Transitioning Well about various life stages and the role the workplace can play in supporting people through these. We also heard from Dr Erica Crome from the National Workplace Initiative. You can see their presentations here (members only). I have also launched a new networking program to provide greater opportunity for our members to connect through Coffee Roulette (members only). Members opt in and are randomly paired with another member monthly and provided the opportunity to introduce and share together. This is exciting as we know the lack of in-person contact has meant the networking side of our program has suffered and we are always looking for new ways to share. Finally, we have a new Think piece in our series written by Rachel Palmer on late career navigation, an important life stage that doesn’t get talked about enough. Our April “COVID- One year on” event is on Tuesday 13 April, we have extended the deadline for case studies, so please view the website for more details on this exciting one-of-a-kind event. If you have anything you would like to share about your work, or ideas for the program, please reach out to me at workplace@wayahead.org.au Steph Thompson, Workplaces Lead Coming upCOVID - One year on - WW April MeetingOur April meeting will be virtual once again. Member SpotlightI think the term wellness programs as a separate program will fade and wellbeing will become the main focus of all safety programs with psychological risk management a top priority."Sandra from TAL Services Discounts for Members
