Being a highly sensitive person is not really a disorder or a condition but "a personality trait thats also known as sensory-processing sensitivity," according to health writer Juli Fraga. We are not sensitive babies; we just think at a deeper level, so processing things affects us more severely.

publishing is thrilled to offer one $2,000 scholarship to a Girls Write Now active or alum mentee who is a rising college junior or senior. The recipient will also have the option to join WMG as a member with full benefits for three years, and all fees will be waived for this period. Deadline: September 30.
