Session Girls Write Now provides mentorship and resources for young women and gender expansive young people across the U.S. regardless of their immigration status. We believe that young leaders need a strong community to help them thrive. As part of our Collaboratory, Girls Write Now mentors attended a professional development session led by First Gen Empower that gave them tools and resources for supporting undocumented and first gen youth. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITYThe Dream US$33,000 Scholarship for First Generation Immigrant Students Applications are open to first generation immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before Nov. 1, 2020. The National Scholarship Award will help cover tuition and fees at one of their Partner Colleges up to a maximum of $33,000 for a bachelor’s degree. Scholars also receive an additional stipend for books, supplies, and transportation up to a maximum of $6,000. While they consider your GPA, they place great emphasis on applicants' dedication to community service and their commitment to academic and career success. Deadline: Saturday, February 28, 2026
