UOW performs in increasingly competitive market

16th in annual ranking of world's top young universities

The University of Wollongong has excelled again in the 2020 QS Top 50 Under 50 rankings, placed 16th in the world and second in Australia.

The annual results, released in July, showed the University continues to be one of the top emerging universities in the world, maintaining the same position as last year despite the increasingly competitive rankings environment.

The rankings are based on an institutional capacity in both research and learning and teaching, with the four key indicators of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, and citations per faculty.

UOW’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Jennifer Martin AC congratulated staff on the rankings, attributing successes to a significant increase in the quality of research as measured by citations.
