We’re excited to introduce the brand new my.science app. It has been specially designed for Science students. The course guide allows Bachelor of Science students to plan their major by choosing different combinations of subjects, and the Career Selector will get you thinking about your future. Science: Day 1

It was great to meet so many of you last Thursday. If you are still feeling confused, check out the Getting Started in Science website. If you missed out on the event, don't worry, Science: Day1 will be running again on Wednesday 17 February.

Unimelb 101: Undergraduate Orientation

To give you a head start this semester, there are lots of events and support services available. Drop-in for course advice sessions, register for activities during O-Week.

Faculty of Science Peer Mentoring Program

Join our Science Peer Mentoring Program for advice, encouragement and support from 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor of Science students. Email  science-academicprograms@unimelb.edu.au to register, with your name, student ID and subject line ‘Science Peer Mentoring’ by Fri 19 Feb.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Class Registration

Make note! Class registration opens next week. Subjects are being released at the following times:

  • 1st year (80% of class places released): Tuesday 2 Feb, 10am
  • 1st year (remaining class places released): Friday 19 Feb, 10am
  • 2nd year: Monday 1 Feb, 10am
  • 3rd year: Monday 1 Feb, 1pm
  • March Intensive: Wednesday 3 Feb, 10am

Start planning early on the website. Once subjects are released, build your timetable at my.unimelb. Everything else you need to know is here.

Student Research Opportunity

Earthwatch research expeditions provide students with hands-on field experience. Join a team heading out in Feb to study microbats or turtles!

Future Scientist International Summer Camp (FSISC)

FSISC offers undergraduate students the chance to study cutting-edge science at one of China’s most prestigious universities. Visit the website to apply for the July camps in physics and chemistry. Applications close Thurs 10 March.

Telstra University Challenge

Scholarships & Prizes

Paterson Scholarship

The Paterson Scholarship provides roughly $4,000 per year to an undergraduate student studying engineering subjects. Instructions on how to apply here. Applications close Wednesday 30 March.

Housing Bursaries

Clubs & Societies Expo

Stop 1

All student services have moved to ‘Stop 1’, on 757 Swanston Street. Stop 1 will be your one stop shop for everything from enrolement advice to financial aid. For a full list of services on offer, visit the website.
