COVID-19 UPDATE

NSW Health is concerned that COVID-19 may be circulating undetected in the community. Please arrange immediate testing for anyone with compatible symptoms, even if mild.

In the past week (7 September to 13 September) there have been 18 new cases of COVID-19 in our region.  City of Sydney (East) LGA, Randwick LGA, Sutherland LGA, Waverley LGA and Woollahra LGA remain areas identified for increased testing and surveillance.

Recording Indigenous status on the Australian Immunisation Register

Vaccination providers can now record Indigenous status directly on the AIR. This helps identify the clinically correct vaccination schedule. Additional vaccines are provided on the National Immunisation Program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. AIR Indigenous status will not be recorded on any other government database and it does not need to be the same as Medicare.

Feedback sought on the 2020 influenza vaccination program

NSW Health is seeking feedback from immunisation providers about the 2020 Influenza Vaccination Program via this survey. Information provided is anonymous and feedback will help inform planning for the 2021 program, including vaccine forecasting and program management, and may also assist with planning for a potential COVID-19 vaccination program should a vaccine become available.

Catch-up schedule now displayed on AIR Immunisation History Statement

From February 2020, if a person is on an approved immunisation catch-up schedule registered on the AIR, it will display on the top of the immunisation history statement, including the date.

This will help give a complete picture of a patient’s immunisation status and give parents and guardians evidence of a child’s vaccination status for childcare or school entry.
