Everything you need to know about a Mummy Makeover

Throughout September, we explored different procedures that make up a Mummy Makeover.

Mummy Makeovers are a combination of several procedures, the most common including breast augmentation and/or a breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction. This set of procedures usually addresses restoring a woman’s body after pregnancy.

Contrary to popular belief, a mummy makeover cannot snap patients back to their pre-baby selves mere weeks or months after giving birth. Attempting to do the aforementioned simply would not be safe. You must keep in mind that both pregnancy and childbirth put immense stress on your body, so having surgery soon afterward would be dangerous. Any reputable plastic surgeon will require you to wait at least six months after giving birth before having invasive plastic surgery.

We have posted many videos and articles on our Facebook page that will guide your through various aspects of a mummy makeover and our team are always on hand to consult with.

(Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.)

Medicare changes

Medicare rules change on 1st November. Will you still be covered?

Medicare have recently released changes that will come into effect on 1 November 2018.

Some item numbers are being abolished, while others are becoming much stricter in terms of eligibility for several procedures.

What does this mean for you?

Quotes we have issued that feature an item number and therefore attract a Medicare rebate and fund rebates (for insured patients) are only valid for surgery up to 31 October 2018.

After that date, we will have to provide new quotes based on the final version of the new Medicare item numbers which may mean you are not covered.

What’s next?

Please contact us if you want to discuss the implications of these changes for your surgical plans by calling 3488 8118.
