Syphilis rates on the rise for women in Melbourne Health care providers are urged to encourage all their clients to CATCH UP and KEEP UP on the health checks they may have missed or put off since the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic. As reported recently, there has been a 220 per cent spike in syphilis infections in women residing in Melbourne. The Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS), a program of the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Health (CEH), is delivering a social media awareness campaign urging culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities to catch up and keep up with their health checks, especially around testing for blood borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmissible infections (STIs). Checking immunisation history is now easierThe new Immunisation View in My Health Record now makes it easier to view a patient's immunisation history directly from your clinical software. The new view consolidates information from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) as well as any immunisation events recorded in Shared Health Summaries and Event Summaries. It shows vaccination status for COVID-19 , childhood vaccines and any related due, overdue and upcoming doses, as well as records for other immunisations that your patients may have received. You can also view any additional information from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR), such as any recorded medical contraindications.
