I finally got the take the MR2 out on my first autocross course. It was also my first time running in the rain, and the first time I've ever spun a car completely around. Unfortunately, I can't even blame the latter two on each other. It was driver error — not the slippery roads — that led to my spin. I participated in a test & tune with the Nittany Bimmers Chapter at Hershey and had a great time! Going from an AWD Subaru WRX to a RWD, mid-engine MR2 has been, and will be, quite a learning experience for me. My co-driver/instructor has been a huge help to me, with his last run of the day being, as I called it, "poetry", I hope to one day be half as good as he is! I can't wait to get out to the Farm Show, and continue getting to know the MR2. I hope to see you all there, hopefully not while spinning. Keep it Classy Susquehanna - Melissa Mauro Note from the RE As you read this, I’m racing at Road America in Wisconsin, so just a quick note this month! A statistic in the June copy of SportsCar magazine caught my attention, and I wanted to share with you all. Susquehanna is considered a “Medium Region” by National SCCA because we have between 200-400 members. Of all of the medium-sized regions, we were #2 in growth in 2016 — 10.6% — second only to Utah Region, which grew 10.8%. Las Vegas came in third with 6.6% growth. With the significant growth we’ve already seen this year, we’re only a few shy of that 400 number, which would bump us up to a “Large Region” in the eyes of national — for the first time, ever. We’re glad to have all of you here with us! That’s all from me this month.Until Next Time — Kristen Poole NEW Meeting Venue & Weeknight Please take note that our monthly regional meetings have changed both venue and weeknight. The meetings will now be held on Wednesday evenings, at Appalachian Brewing Company, 50 N Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. The updated directions and meeting details are listed below in the meeting section of this issue. We hope to see you at the meeting! First 2017 Rallycross Hits Event Cap! by John Roscinski The first Rallycross weekend of 2017 was a success. Fourteen students braved the rain and the wind to learn a new driving skill set on Saturday. Sunday followed with the first points event of the season, and much, much nicer weather. So nice in fact, it caused us to do something we've never done before (And no, it didn't involve a Subaru driver in a BMW). I'm talking about the first time we've ever hit our event cap! Come to think of it, social media probably had more of an effect than the weather... Now that being said, make sure to get preregistered early for our next event at the Elmerton lot on June 24, which is

Neon Recoveryby Alan Lesher The car is coming back together. It starts, runs, drives. Brakes are fixed. The fluid transfer tube on the left front caliper cracked and had to be replaced. What else could go wrong? Well, let me tell 'ya! The left front strut housing was bent, but not discovered until a few weeks ago. So, that is being addressed. May not be done in time for the Pocono race Memorial Day weekend.
