Historic Win for The High School
The High School Junior A hockey team beat St Andrew's College on Wednesday to win the Leinster Hockey Association Junior league for the first time in the history of the school. The High School were slow to start in the first half and conceded a goal just 10 minutes before half time. However, just 8 minutes from full time, Harry Lynch's drag flick was blocked on the goal line by a St Andrew's College player resulting in a penalty stroke which Alistair Empey calmly converted. The match ended a 1-1 which meant a period of extra time resulting in a couple of chances before Andrew Canning secured the victory with a cool finish from a short corner in the final minute. It was truly an historic game and one that will be remembered for many years to come.
