A few words from Tim...

How can it nearly be Christmas?! Although we're well into December, it still feels way too early to be thinking about it - or is that just me?!

Maybe it's the delivery of 2 more CNC machines (a Fanuc and a Hurco) that has distracted me somewhat!

In all seriousness, we are starting to get excited though, as we will be celebrating the run up to Christmas slightly differently this year, for various reasons.

One decision we've made, is that, apologies, but we won't be sending out Christmas cards; for the simple reason we would prefer to help save the planet and in the process, take the time to wish you a much more personal Happy Christmas instead. I hope you appreciate our reasons.

In addition, we are going to be supporting our chosen charity,  Walking for the Wounded, who support Forces veterans. Let me explain:

John joined us 6 months ago in our Mouldshop and is currently training to compete in the Marathon des Sables in April next year in aid of Walking for the Wounded.

This is no mean feat (Google it!) and as a result we have decided to get behind him, both as a team by Walking Home for Christmas (well I certainly can't run!) and also by being his official sponsors for the event.

I'll let John tell you his story (in the article below), and he can explain why he is doing this incredibly challenging event...

John has a Just Giving Page and I would like to ask if you would please consider donating, I know even just a small amount will really help to spur him on.

Finally, I'd like to thank you for your support throughout 2019, and send very best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

John's Story...

In April 2020 I will be competing in the Marathon Des Sables in aid of Walking with the Wounded to help give back a little of what they gave to me.

I have been involved with this charity for almost 10 years, initially on a personal level, receiving vital support from them at a time in my life when things were very difficult, and now from the other side of the fence, by contributing to their fundraising events.

My story began after leaving the Armed Forces in late 2010...

Walking Home for Christmas

Walking Home for Christmas

On Friday 20th December, Plunkett Associates will be taking part in Walking for the Wounded’s, Walking Home for Christmas Campaign to support ex-military who are alone this Christmas.

We will be walking around our local area, visiting business’s, dressed in our festive finest, (with Santa hats of course!), delivering mince pies, sharing John’s story (and a little bit of Christmas cheer) and in return asking for donations to our fundraising campaign!

Plunkett's Christmas Opening Hours

Our Gloucester offices will be taking a short break for a few days over the Christmas and New Year period, although emails will still be checked daily.

Coffee will be served right up to close of play on Christmas Eve so pop in, pick up the phone or email us if you need parts or simply some advice.

We will be back for business as usual on Thursday 2nd January 2020.

Please note our colleagues in the Far East work throughout the Christmas Period, so if you need parts urgently in the New Year, get in touch with us now and they could be waiting for you on your desk when you return to work!

We'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to working with you in 2020.
