Changes to the CRO card – another step towards a fully qualified workforce

From 1st October 2015 new measures will be introduced which will pave the way for the eventual withdrawal of the Construction Related Occupations (CRO) card.

This is another major step towards qualifying the construction workforce.

CITB HS&E test price increase

The CITB Health, safety and environment test, a key element of construction card scheme applications and renewal processes, will see its first price change in 10 years from £17.50 to £19.50. effective from 1st September 2015.

Make sure you check photo requirements before applying for a CSCS card

Unfortunately an increasing number of card applications are being returned because the photographs submitted are not acceptable.

All photographs should be:
• in colour
• printed on plain white photographic paper
• taken against a plain cream or light grey background
•  clear and in focus
• no more than 2 years old
• without any tears or creases
• unaltered by computer software
