Reconciliation Takes Action 2021

National Reconciliation Week

Each year National Reconciliation Week is held from 27 May to 3 June, following National Sorry Day. This year’s theme “More Than A Word. Reconciliation Takes Action” urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.

All Australians have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.

At Mitchell Shire, we acknowledge the Taungurung and Wurundjeri people as Traditional Owners and continue to work towards Reconciliation through our Social Justice Framework.

PLAN FOR CATS, DOGS Responsible pet ownership

We're developing a new Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) and we want to know how you think we can better manage dogs and cats in our shire.

The DAMP aims to promote responsible pet ownership within the community and covers everything from minimising dog attacks to encouraging people to register and microchip cats and dogs.

Domestic Animal Management Plans are legislated and must be developed and renewed every four years by all Councils across Victoria
