This campaign highlights the cry of Palestinian and Israeli partners for homes – and a homeland -- where families are safe and secure, where their basic needs are met, where they can come and go freely, and can imagine a future of justice and peace. The new resources for this campaign include: videos, stories and factsheets on illegal Israel settlements, demolition of Palestinian homes, military detention of Palestinian children, Jewish Israelis resisting military service and more. Additional resources will be available in the coming months. Please join us! Sign up for electronic updates on the campaign and contact your MCC provincial office for special speakers, presentations, and learning opportunities. Visit A Cry for Home. "This is not business as usual!"Earlier this year the Canadian government released a new Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP). The goal is to incorporate gender equality into all aspects of Canada's foreign assistance. But how is this all put into practice? Several organizations, like the Canadian Council for International Cooperation (CCIC) and MCC, are weighing in with our own analysis and expectations. In September, at an event organized in part by Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB), development practitioners from Canada and around the world, experts on global food security, and staff from Global Affairs Canada gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities for achieving food security for all through the FIAP. The sentiment “this is not going to be business as usual” was echoed loudly across the room – and practitioners, in moving forward, are eager to both work with and hold the government to account.
