NSW Health recommends HIV testing in a diverse range of patients because of an increased number of HIV diagnoses through heterosexual sex among NSW residents and an increase of diagnoses of overseas born men who have sex with men.

Do you use shared care planning tools?
UNSW is running a small study on practice’s experiences using shared care planning tools. The researchers would like to conduct interviews with GP Principals, Practice Managers and Practice Nurses about their experiences (positive and negative). The interviews will take between 30 minutes to one hour, and practices will be reimbursed for their time. Australian clinical digital health leaders are being invited to join a new national network to champion digital health throughout hospitals and healthcare organisations. The network will provide forums and channels for knowledge sharing that supports improved patient care.

It will include presentations on disability and the NDIS, preventing melanoma, health ageing, and the first 1000 days of life. This seminar will review the rationale and evidence for existing vaccines currently recommended for pregnant women in many countries, provide an overview of new vaccines being developed for future implementation in the obstetrical population, discuss uptake and determinants of immunisation during pregnancy, highlight safety monitoring issues and discuss considerations for high-risk pregnant women.

NewAccess is now available across central and eastern Sydney!
The NewAccess program provides support for people living with mild to moderate stress, anxiety or depression. It is free, confidential and available to everyone over 16 years of age. The program is aimed at helping people tackle day-to-day pressures using practical techniques and providing skills that equip you for life. The sessions can be provided over the phone, via Skype or in person.

We are currently scoping new and exciting venue options around the St George and Inner West area (in place of the current Ashfield and Kogarah office locations) and will continue to deliver events at various venues across our PHN region. There will be no interruption to the CPD program during the moving period and the CPD team look forward to welcoming our stakeholders to our new office event space in Mascot later in the year.
