Staff Spotlight:
Kristin RoweWhat is your job title and department?
Associate Registrar, Office of the Registrar. Where are you from?
I grew up in northern Wisconsin in the small village of Luck. The town was once home to the Duncan Toys Company Yo-Yo factory headquarters and thus was known as the "Yo-yo capital of the world," producing 3,600 yo-yos an hour! How long have you worked at WCU?
Just over two years! What is your academic background or special training you'd like to share?
I completed my BA in Biology at a small Swedish Lutheran liberal arts college in Minnesota called Gustavus Adolphus College. With degree in hand I joined the Peace Corps and lived in Tanzania East Africa for three years working as a fisheries extension officer in the rural villages. Upon returning to the United States, I moved to NYC to attend New York University where I completed a Master's Degree in Counseling. What is your favorite thing about working at WCU?
I absolutely love everything about WCU, the people, the beautiful mountains, and the warm welcoming environment that makes this place feel like home!
