![]() A warm welcome to the Summer Edition of the Bargate Murray newsletter Let’s start with some exciting news about the firm. 2021 saw the promotion to full Director of Dom Bulfin. You can read more about Dom’s promotion here. And some more great news was the firm and I have been highly ranked for the sixth consecutive year in the Chambers and Partners HNW Guide for our yachts and superyachts work. Many thanks to our clients, friends and market commentators for their kind words submitted to the researchers of Chambers, this is very much appreciated by me and the whole team. In this Summer edition, I go back to the future to see how the role of the superyacht lawyer has changed in an article about the New Normal, before turning to the topic of Unjust Enrichment, Dom Bulfin looks at the people making waves in the name of philanthropy, Hannah Faulkner analyses dispute resolution clauses and finally, we have Graham Agass who talks about the importance of trusted advisors to the running of any business. Given the continued uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, we have decided, for a second year, to postpone our party at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show in September. We will make a charitable donation instead, to Young Minds Trust https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/will-bargate, in memory of my youngest son, Will Bargate. They are doing so much to help young people struggling with their mental health due to the pandemic. We hope to throw an epic party at the show next year, when hopefully, there are no restrictions and greater certainty. We will still be at the show, so do please get in touch so we can arrange to meet up if you too are going – it would be great to see you there. In the meantime, enjoy the summer wherever you are.
