CONNECTING THE FUTURE
Working together with our members and transport peers, Connect developed critical transport insights for inclusion in the Connecting the Future Report and Light Rail Symposium launched in May by the City of Ryde and Macquarie University. The launch was well attended by local business, including our Connect members, two State Cabinet Ministers, a Federal Minister and two Mayors.
A decision will be reached soon on the preferred first stage of the North West Light Rail Network, so if you missed the symposium, read the Connecting the Future report today to ensure you are aware of the opportunity this infrastructure development represents to Macquarie Park and North Ryde.

NEW PEDESTRIAN REFUGE LYONPARK ROAD
In our recent staff travel questionnaire you told us pedestrians found it difficult to cross at the roundabout on Lyonpark Road, a major access point for walkers coming from Epping Road.
At Connect we know that small infrastructure fixes can make a big difference. Refuges can be in the middle of two traffic lanes, providing a safe place to wait for a gap in the traffic.
We presented this recommendation to the City of Ryde who commenced installation of the refuge last week. The refuge is now complete and in operation.
If there is a footpath hotspot or hazard in our precinct that you would like to see enhanced lodge your suggestion with the City of Ryde here today. All suggestions are assigned directly to a council officer to investigate.
