Free self-empowerment program for women who have left abusive relationships
Burwood Community Welfare Services will be running After the Storm, a six-week self-empowerment program supporting women who have left an abusive relationship. The aim will be to build a safe platform for learning about dynamics and cycles of abuse as well as strategies for protection and self-care.The program is free of charge.

New services from The Haymarket Foundation
In July 2017, The Haymarket Foundation proudly launched two new drug and alcohol services. The Waiting List Support Service provides effective support to people experiencing problematic drug and alcohol use while waiting to access treatment. The Drug and Alcohol Counselling Service is designed for people with co-occurring AOD and mental health conditions providing ongoing support.

HealthPathways Sydney have recently developed a pathway called "Codeine - Chronic Use and Deprescribing" which can assist GPs and other health professionals with this change.

ComDiab: FREE community diabetes education program for CALD populations
In two-hour interactive sessions, ComDiab educates people with type 2 diabetes about the benefits of a healthy diet, regular exercise and weight management, regular medication use, hypoglycaemia awareness, and prevention of diabetes-related complications. The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the new Active Kids program!
From 31 January 2018, parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher valued up to $100 per calendar year for each student enrolled in school. The voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued.

Go4Fun 2018 term 1 has started!
Go4Fun is a ten-week healthy lifestyle program running across NSW for kids aged 7 to 13 years, delivered by qualified health professionals. Sessions are held after school, one a week running parallel to school terms. It aims to improve the health of the child through the development of healthy lifestyle behaviours as well as positively affecting kids' attitude to food and exercise.

CESPHN is looking for a practice nurse who is interested in participating on an upcoming tender evaluation panel for the recently released tender on e-Learning for general practice nurses. You need to be available during business hours, able to commit to conducting online evaluation and a joint panel meeting. A strong understanding of chronic disease, e-Learning and CPD is preferred.

Polycystic Kidney Disease Workshop
CESPHN has partnered with Kidney Health Australia to present newly released GP education on ‘Polycystic Kidney Disease’. Professor Gopi Rangan is the keynote speaker and is Australia’s top nephrologist expert in the PKD area. He is an Associate Professor at Westmead Institute for Medical Research and leads a team researching treatments for kidney failure due to Polycystic Kidney Disease.
