CSCS welcomes new Chairman

CSCS is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Uphill as Chairman of the Board with effect from 1st May 2018. Carolyn has 30 years’ experience owning and managing an Equipment Manufacturing and Plant Hire Company and has also chaired a leading trade association whose stated objectives are to improve standards and encourage training.She will succeed current CSCS Chairman Michael Clapham. Go Smart gets new site

CSCS has launched a new website dedicated to the free Go Smart app. Go Smart lets you check cards from CSCS and other Partner Card Schemes electronically. Checking a card takes seconds and lets you record card data without tedious manual entry. Read more

CSCS approves online course

CSCS is pleased to announce that the Safe2Site online course has been approved as the latest route to the green Labourer card. This is the first online course to be approved by CSCS as it meets all the requirements contained wihin CSCS's e-assessment policy. Read more

British Safety Council cracks down on fraudulent certificates

In recent weeks the British Safety Council (BSC), who deliver the Level 1 Award, have confirmed a rise in the number of fraudulent certificates being used to apply for the CSCS Labourer card. As a result, BSC have taken the decision to stop verifying or replacing older versions of their certificates. Please be aware that this may affect your ability to apply for a CSCS card. Read more

GQA labourers turned away from site

Most people in construction are familiar with Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. However, not everyone is aware that there are 35 other card schemes displaying the CSCS logo. CSCS recently received reports that holders of the GQA Q-card (one of CSCS’s Partner Card Schemes) have had been turned away from site. Read more
