Pick Up ReminderPlease remember, afternoon pick-up begins at 3:00pm for elementary, and 3:15pm for middle school (12pm for all grade levels on early release days). For safety reasons, it is necessary that the loading zone in front of the school remain clear until this time. If you arrive before your child’s pick-up time, please circle the block. We appreciate your support and cooperation. Coffee SocialPlease join UDA administration, the Network, and UDA parents/guardians for coffee and conversation following Stellar Student Awards on Friday, April 6! The coffee social will begin around 8:15am in the Hive. This is a great way to meet other families, learn about upcoming events, and get updates directly from school administration. State TestingNext month, UDA will begin administering the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). Students across California in grades 3–8 take these assessments each spring. The tests measure the skills called for by the academic standards, including the ability to write clearly, think critically, and solve problems. Because CAASPP tests are given statewide, they provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards. Given online, the tests are computer-adaptive, allowing more precise measurement of individual skills. Please keep in mind, these assessments are just one of the tools we use to gauge student progress and performance. Parents have the opportunity to experience the kinds of questions that students will encounter on the tests by reviewing the Practice and Training Tests. This May, your child will take the following tests:
If you plan to exempt your child from testing, UDA must receive a written request annually from the legal parent/guardian, specifying the tests to be exempted.
