Help Shape the Future of Mautohe Cathedral Cove

The Department of Conservation (DOC), in partnership with Ngāti Hei, is developing a management plan for Mautohe Cathedral Cove (MCC) and Te Whanganui-o-Hei Marine Reserve. As part of this work, they’ve identified key challenges that could affect the long-term sustainability of MCC and the marine reserve as iconic visitor experiences.

To help protect the cultural and natural values of these places, DOC is now exploring a range of management options, and they want to hear from you.

We’re helping DOC share this information and encourage you to have your say on the draft options and offer your ideas for how MCC should be cared for into the future. Your feedback will help shape how recreation and conservation are managed at Mautohe Cathedral Cove.

Responses are anonymous, and any personal details will be kept confidential under the DOC Privacy Statement. Results will be shared in a way that ensures no individual can be identified.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
