Age Friendly Communities Recognition Award

The Province and BC Healthy Communities are excited to recognize a further 11 communities in 2015 who have demonstrated incredible commitment to supporting older residents to remain healthy and active in their communities. This builds on eight communities recognized in 2014. Read more here.

Funding: Community-Based Projects for Seniors

The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) helps to ensure that seniors can benefit from, and contribute to, the quality of life in their communities through active living and participation in social activities. NHSP offers grants of up to $25,000 for projects led or inspired by seniors. Apply by July 10.

Reminder: LIRN BC Accepting Expressions of Interest 

Learning Initiatives for Rural and Northern BC (LIRN BC) brings trainers and facilitators to your community to help deliver a learning event for residents. The LIRN BC process encourages community-based, collaboration on a locally relevant learning initiative. Deadline: July 7. More information here.
