The registration for Larnaca Triathlon is now closed.  We kindly ask you to check if the information in the Final Start List is correct.  In case you think that something is wrong please notify us before Friday the 13th of May 2016. There will be no changes in the morning of the race.

Below you will find frequently asked questions and important information regarding the event.  Please read them carefully.  We ask for your support and cooperation in following the Rules in order to have a successful, safe and fair event that every competitor will enjoy.

F.A.Q.

·         When and where can I pick-up my race bag?

Saturday 14th of May, 16:00-17:00 at Flamingo Hotel (152, Piale Pasha Avenue
6028 Larnaca).

Sunday 15th of May, 6:00-7:00 at Makenzy parking area  (Transition area, during registration)

Due to the large number of participants we recommend that you arrive early enough on the race day to register.

·         When is the briefing?

Briefing is mandatory.  There will be a race briefing on Saturday at the lobby of Flamingo Hotel at 16:00.  On Sunday there will be a short briefing before the start.  Make sure to familiarize yourself with the race course and the flow of the transition area.  

·         Will roads be closed to traffic?

The roads will be closed to traffic from 7:30.  At all times the participants must anticipate that cars can be in the course due to violation of the road closures or due to emergencies.  

·         Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking space at Makenzy Area.  A marshal will direct you to the available parking areas.   Athletes and their companions will not be allowed to leave parking earlier than 10:00 unless for emergency reason.

·         Where do I put the chip?

The chip should be exposed (image).  If the wetsuit is allowed, make sure that the chip is on top of the wetsuit.  Make sure to hand it over to the official at the finish line after you finish the race.

·         Do I need a wetsuit?

Wetsuits will be allowed as optional if the water temperature is between 14C˚ and 22 C˚. An indication of the water temperature will be given at the formal briefing on Saturday 14th May and final ruling will be posted at 7:00 on the race day.

·         Is the helmet optional?

The helmet is a mandatory.  Anyone without a helmet will be disqualified.   

·         Is drafting allowed?

Drafting is not allowed.  The drafting rule will be enforced by referees. The penalty box will be situated at the exit of the transition area. 

Be sure that you are familiar with the Competition Rules and especially with the Drafting Rule.

It is very important during the bike course to stay always at the very left side of the lane allowing faster competitors to over pass from your right. Overpassing from the left leads immediately to disqualification.

·         Can I listen to music?

No.  Earphones are prohibited by the Competition Rules during the whole race duration.

·         Do I need to count laps?

Yes.  It is the competitors' responsibility to count the laps.  Officials at a certain point will hand over to every athlete one wrist band for every lap. Make sure you know the number of laps according to your race distance and pick up one wrist band for each one. At the finish line you must deliver your chip and your wrist bands for recording. 

·         What time is the Awards Ceremony?

The Award Ceremony will start at 11:00.

·         When can I pick-up my bike?

After the race is finished athletes are allowed to visit the TA briefly in a controlled manner and only from swim in entrance. Bike can be picked after the award’s ceremony is finished at 12:00.
