Click here Over $143,000 awarded to community groupsAdelaide Hills Council has awarded $45,847 in grants to 20 local community groups through the Community Development Grants program, and a further $97,741 to 14 groups through the Community and Recreation Facility Grants program. The grants were approved at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 August and funded a range of projects from replacement of kitchen facilities, defibrillator purchases, and installation of solar panels, to technology for digital storage and funding for oval master planning. Congratulations to all of our recipients. We acknowledge that the quality of applicants across both grant programs was very high and encourage those unsuccessful applicants to continue their great work in the community and apply again in the future. Late dog registrations will receive a two week reprieve Dog registrations were due by 31 August, but a two week reprieve is in place that will see no late fee charged until after 15 September. If you missed the deadline, jump onto the Dogs and Cats Online portal and register your pooch before 15 September to avoid a late fee. The Big Draw Festival coming to the Hills The Big Draw Festival and its 2018 theme of PLAY is headed to the Hills this September and October. Its the first time we have participated in this international initiative and we have pulled together a fantastic program for adults and children, with no experience required! Try your hand at life drawing, see how you can create art through yoga, or give book illustrations a go, just for a start. Mobile phone recycling success with Mobile Muster How many old mobile devices do you have lying in a junk drawer because you don't know what to do with them? You need Mobile Muster. The Mobile Muster received 36kgs of mobile phone components from our region in the last financial year, which is a great result for our environment (and your storage space). Visit the Mobile Muster website to find a drop off point near you, and start off-loading your old mobiles, chargers, Wi-Fi devices and more! State Planning Reform now underway South Australia's urban and regional planning system is currently undergoing its biggest reform in over 25 years. The project is being rolled out by the State's Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI).
