It would come as no surprise that the majority of surveys cite losing weight is the most popular new year’s resolution - sharing the top spot with “being a better person”…. But why not make practical resolutions that promote self-care and good health? If we’re making resolutions that focus around our health, it’s important to know where we stand, and that means getting informed on our medical condition from head to toe. We believe the start of a new year is an excellent time to focus on your health and recommend that people visit their medical provider for a routine physical. At the visit, your doctor will check to make sure that you have age-appropriate screening tests done, like Pap smears and colonoscopies, and they can also review your family history for important information. Taking a few moments for your health will save you significant time, money and stress in the long run. - Dr Raymond Goh and Dr Matthew Peters IN VOGUEDr Matthew Peters and Dr Raymond Goh recently spoke to Vogue Australia’s Cosmetic and Anti-aging magazine. The magazine examines the top trends and future treatments and Dr Peters was interviewed about breast augmentation and breast construction, whilst Dr Goh detailed procedures such as the ‘mommy makeover’ and brachioplasty - or an arm lift. According to the surgeons, when it comes to cosmetic procedures in 2018, “the results derived from body cosmetic surgery are the best they’ve ever been.” Check out the full article in the January edition of Vogue.
Annual Dermatology ChecksJanuary serves as a great reminder for us to update our general health regime, seeking those annual health screens and physicals, but it’s also a perfect time to plan for dermatological check-ups. Dr Kate DeAmbrosis specialises in skin cancer detection and treatment, acne, psoriasis and eczema along with recently introducing treatments for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and the launch last year of phototherapy for conditions such as psoriasis and vitiligo.
