Hello ACORNS subscriber
It is now only six weeks until the 8th World Summit on Arts and Culture and we can confirm that we will be joined by more than 70 expert speakers representing more than 40 countries, for more than 25 programmed sessions during which participants will explore countless vital issues from a multitude of perspectives. We will also be joined by 70 representatives from IFACCA member institutions from across six continents.
We are thrilled to have such an expansive experience lined up for Summit participants; we are also particularly excited about our new series of participatory workshops, which will create an opportunity for delegates to get hands on, work together and focus their energies. This includes the workshop Drawing Together: Mapping, Decolonising and Futuring Arts and Culture with Tristan Schultz (Australia); the Distributed Web of Care Project workshop with Taeyoon Choi (South Korea / USA) founder of the School of Poetic Computation; a dance practice workshop with pioneering dancer-choreographer Marion D’Cruz (Malaysia); a weaving workshop with women weavers from Penan, Sarawak; the workshop Domestic Hacking led by artist and founder of House of Natural Fiber (HONF) Irene Agrivina Widyaningrum and scientist Liyana Fuad (Indonesia); as well as the workshop Developing Innovation Clusters for Cultural Organisations with Ragnar Siil (Estonia).
Places for the workshops will be limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. We will be contacting registered delegates in the coming weeks with details on how to secure their place. If you plan to join us but have not yet registered, we highly recommend you book soon to avoid disappointment!

Ideas for Sharing Stories in Performance
This practice workshop will be led by Marion D’Cruz, pioneering dancer-choreographer and co-founder of Five Arts Centre, Malaysia. This workshop will open with a presentation on the work of Five Arts Centre, followed by an opportunity for delegates to experiment and explore how performance can communicate ideas and stories.

Drawing Together: Mapping, Decolonising and Futuring Arts and Culture
This workshop will be led by Tristan Schultz, founder and director of strategic design practice Relative Creative Community Hub (Australia), which designs experiences and events to help people think, talk and mobilise their futures. Tristan’s work sits at the intersection of decolonial thinking, design and sustainability, and is informed by extensive interdisciplinary critical design experience, as well as his Kamilaroi Aboriginal and European Australian heritage.

Developing innovation clusters for cultural organisations
This workshop is targeted toward cultural managers, policy makers and leaders of cultural organisations. It will be delivered by Ragnar Siil (Estonia). The workshop will investigate the benefits of working within physical and virtual clusters; how to set up and develop clusters that consist of cultural and non-cultural players; how to overcome the innovation paradox and install appropriate cluster management models for effective cooperation; and how to design
road maps for cluster development in cultural and creative sectors.

Domestic Hacking with the House of Natural Fiber
This workshop will be led by Irene Agrivina Widyaningrum (Indonesia) a founder and director of new media and technology laboratory House of Natural Fiber, along with artist, chef, entrepreneur and researcher Liyana Fuad (Indonesia). Participants will conduct two experiments – one in DNA extraction, one in bacteria
farming – to explore how microscopic agents such as genes, proteins, bacteria and fungi relate to macroscopic dynamics of power in contemporary biopolitics. Participants will consider how science can be used to solve urgent societal needs, and empower women by transforming the domestic space into science lab.

Faltan sólo seis semanas hasta la 8ª Cumbre Mundial de las Artes y la Cultura y ya podemos confirmar que nos acompañarán más de 70 expertos ponentes de más de 40 países, en las más de 25 sesiones programadas en las que los participantes abordarán innumerables temas clave desde una multitud de perspectivas. También nos acompañarán 70 representantes de las instituciones miembro de IFACCA de los seis continentes.
Nos entusiasma poder ofrecer semejante acumulación de experiencia a los participantes de la Cumbre y, en particular, esperamos con gran anhelo nuestra nueva serie de talleres participativos, que constituirán una oportunidad para que los delegados puedan trabajar juntos de manera práctica y focalizar sus energías. Entre los talleres están Dibujando en conjunto: mapeando, descolonizando y planificando el futuro de las artes y la cultura con Tristan
Schultz (Australia); el taller Web distribuida de proyecto de cuidado with Taeyoon Choi (Corea del Sur / Estados Unidos) fundador de la Escuela de Computación Poética; un taller de práctica de danza con la innovadora coreógrafa y bailarina Marion D’Cruz (Malasia); un taller de tejeduría con las tejedoras de Penan, Sarawak; el taller Hackeo doméstico dirigido por la artista y fundadora de la Casa de la Fibra Natural (HONF) Irene Agrivina Widyaningrum y la científica Liyana Fuad (Indonesia); y el taller Desarrollo de Clústeres de Innovación para Instituciones Culturales con Ragnar Siil (Estonia).
Las plazas para los talleres son limitadas y se adjudicarán por orden de solicitud. Estaremos en contacto con los delegados ya inscritos en las próximas semanas para explicarles cómo conseguir una plaza. Si tiene pensado acompañarnos pero todavía no se ha inscrito, le recomendamos reservar pronto para evitar desilusiones.

En este taller, a delegadas y delegados se les ofrecerá la posibilidad de encontrarse en un escenario diferente, en el cual podrán compartir ideas, mientras aprenden técnicas tradicionales de tejeduría de Sarawak, Malasia.

Práctica participativa: ideas para compartir historias en las artes escénicas
Este taller tendrá dos secciones. En la primera, Marion D'Cruz presentará sobre la obra de Five Arts Centre, Malasia. En la segunda, las delegadas y los delegados participarán activamente en "hacer performance" siguiendo instrucciones sencillas. Todo el mundo tiene una historia que contar. Todo el mundo tiene una idea. En este taller, los participantes experimentarán cómo "contar sus propias historias" y/o "presentar sus propias ideas".

Dibujando en conjunto: mapeando, descolonizando y planificando el futuro de las artes y la cultura
Este taller estará a cargo de Tristan Schultz, fundador y director de Relative Creative Community Hub. Se trata de una práctica de diseño estratégico que crea experiencias y eventos que ayudan a la gente a pensar, hablar y movilizar sus futuros. El trabajo de Tristan está ubicado en el cruce entre el pensamiento descolonizador, el diseño y la sustentabilidad, y se nutre de una prolongada experiencia en diseño crítico interdisciplinario, como también de su patrimonio aborigen kamilaroi y
australiano-europeo.

Desarrollo de Clústeres de Innovación para Instituciones Culturales
Este taller está dirigido a gestores culturales, responsables políticos y líderes de organizaciones culturales. Será presentado por Ragnar Siil. El taller investigará los beneficios de trabajar dentro de clústeres físicos y virtuales; cómo establecer y desarrollar estos grupos que estén compuestos por actores culturales y no culturales; cómo superar la paradoja de la innovación e instalar modelos de gestión de conglomerados apropiados para una
cooperación efectiva; y cómo diseñar mapas de ruta para el desarrollo de clústeres en los sectores culturales y creativos.

Hackeo doméstico con la Casa de Fibra Natural (HONF)
Este taller estará dirigido por Irene Agrivina Widyaningrum (Indonesia), fundadora y directora del laboratorio de medios y tecnología de la Casa de Fibra Natural, junto con la artista, chef, empresaria e investigadora Liyana Fuad (Indonesia). Las y los participantes realizarán dos experimentos, uno de extracción de ADN y otro en cultivo de bacteria, para explorar cómo los agentes microscópicos como los genes, proteínas, bacterias y hongos se relacionan con la dinámica macroscópica del poder en la biopolítica contemporánea. Las y los participantes considerarán el rol de la ciencia para resolver las necesidades sociales de urgencia y cómo puede empoderar a mujeres al transformar el espacio doméstico en un laboratorio de ciencias.
