In the aftermath of one of the best Pacific Expos ADM has attended, our Editor Katherine Ziesing reflects on the mood of the Navy and revisits her favourite topic – the Competitive Evaluation Process.

Other news arising from the maritime gathering was the launch of the third iteration of Pitchfest, with an exciting array of new innovations presented. Airbus also used the event to outline a series of future capability upgrade proposals for the MRH90 Taipan Multi-role helicopter.

Minister for Defence Marise Payne and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop have been talking with their US counterparts at the annual AUSMIN consultations in Boston. And closer to home we see an increase in the cyber security threat in the Asia Pacific region and a scholarship boost for aspiring young naval engineers.

Our 3rd annual Northern Australian Defence Summit will be taking place up top on 28-29 October so if you haven't already registered, do so now. How do you like your news? Adapt ADM's feed to your preference, whether via Twitter, facebook or LinkedIn
