FEBRUARY 2024 NEWSLETTER
Welcome to my first newsletter of 2024. I do hope it finds you all well and you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
I had the longest break since owning my business, staying in my “place of solace” in Bali. There I relaxed, enjoyed the company of friends and ate like a king. I plotted all sorts of events for 2024 and then put my mind to designing a couple of collections of new jewels… so watch this space as the year unfolds.
Fashion Soirée
Fundraising Event
The first event, for those of you who aren’t already aware, is a fashion parade to be held in the offices of Morgan Stanley at Level 43, 101 Collins Street on Thursday 15th February.
Together with Perri Cutten who will be showcasing their new Autumn fashion and core suiting collections, Circa AD Jewels will showcase jewels with this most iconic of Australian designers. The proceeds of this event will be donated to charity, a great cause called Giant Steps Melbourne. There will be other events like this throughout the year but as there are a few tickets left be sure to book your tickets now.
Valentine's Day
Being February, the most important day of all from a jewellery point of view is, of course, Valentine’s Day. On Instagram (@circa_ad_jewels) you will see all sorts of ideas for your beloved. Priced right across the board there is literally an idea for both him and her—as one might think it’s all about the ladies— but the boys of this world shouldn’t be forgotten either!
Now that I’m back up and running in the fast lane, don’t forget I am at your service when it comes to your jewels or jewellery needs. My talented jewellers, threaders and setters are all back too and we are looking forward to working with you. Whether you have always wanted a particular piece, or have some scrap gold to sell (Gold Bullion is still at record levels), or need something repaired you only have to ask, as I am at your service!! I now see clients in the meeting rooms of the RACV at 501, Bourke Street, Melbourne, so do get in touch and join me for a coffee or maybe even a GnT, at the appointed hour of course! For those of you interstate, I am doing more and more work on FaceTime or Whatsapp so please do get in touch and let’s set something up!
On the subject of Valentine’s Day, I thought you might like to read about the ultimate Valentines gift given by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor. This jewel has history, provenance, romance, and a few trip-ups along the way including being discovered in the mouth of one of Elizabeth’s Pekinese! It truly is a jewel to behold.
