Career Training Programs at Educational Opportunity Center
Are you looking for a certification or vocational program to participate in? The Educational Opportunity Center offers FREE certification programs. Some of their offerings include the Certified Nursing, Direct Support Professional, Security Guard Training and EMT Programs, to name a few. EOC Programs are offered at the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center and the Bronx Educational Opportunity Center.
Campus Life at Home
Do you feel like you're missing out on campus life because of remote learning? Try attending virtual events to feel more connected to your campus. Check out your SUNY schools social media platforms or CUNY's campus resource list, which includes their campus org websites and social media.
Financial Aid Workshop
On October 15th iMentor will be holding our first financial aid workshop for the Fall semester.
Remember: FAFSA and TAP must be renewed every year. If you are currently not enrolled but plan to in the future, you must also submit your applications.
iMentor's Transfer Program
Are you or your mentee finishing up an Associate’s degree and thinking about pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or considering a switch from your current college or university? If yes, we have the transfer services you will need to transition into your best fit!
Our new transfer services will include:
- 1:1 transfer advising sessions with your Program Manager
- A comprehensive transfer plan starting from your first research of schools to the moment you set foot on your new campus
- Transfer workshops where we offer $100 of transfer application fees in real time
- Mentor training and skills building to ensure you can support your mentee in this process!
- Targeted text and email reminders to remind you of upcoming transfer deadlines and important updates

iRun for Education Equality
The NYC Mentor Community team is thrilled to announce our first ever virtual (in your home or outdoors!) endurance event - iRun for Education Equity.
If you're interested in running on behalf of iMentor, GREAT! You can get started by registering through the EliteFeats link below. You can run any day and distance (5K, Half Marathon, Marathon) between October 9 and October 19, and we'll provide you with the tools to hit your fundraising goal.
