September 6 - October 20 The Glass House: “A Chapel in a Cathedral of Nature” at the Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables.  The 1949 Glass House by Philip Johnson is a stunning example of American modern architecture.  Described by architectural photographer Robin Hill as “a chapel in a cathedral of nature,” the house is situated on a 49-acre property in New Canaan, Connecticut.  It was here that Johnson, the architect and founding director of MoMA’s Department of Architecture and Design, designed a variety of Buildings and structures that related to the surrounding landscape, hosted artists and art happenings, and lived from 1949 until his death in 2005.  For times and related events, visit the Coral Gables Museum website.
