About the Presenter: Matthew Johnston, RCC is a mental health professional and full-time fire fighter with the Surrey Fire Service. As a clinician, Matthew has extensive experience treating child and adolescent trauma utilizing a variety of expressive-based and talk therapy techniques. Recently, Matthew has applied these same concepts towards a first responder audience in an effort to alleviate the ongoing mental health crisis plaguing emergency workers across North America. A sought after public speaker and author of several recent articles on vicarious trauma, Matthew’s particular interest lies in closing the gap between mental health clinicians and first responders. |
