Test centres reopening

CITB is re-establishing the Health, safety and environment testing operations in England. Applicants and Cardholders in England can now take their Health, Safety and Environment tests in order to renew and apply for their cards. Read more.

New card design launched

CSCS launched a new card design in June 2020. The electronic chip previously displayed on the front of the card has been embedded inside the card and is no longer visible. Cards will also have a contactless symbol next to the profile picture. Find out more about the new design here.

No new alternatives to the Level 1 Award

CSCS has decided to stop accepting new alternatives to the Level 1 Award with immediate effect. There are more than 10 different approved routes to the Labourer card which provides enough capacity for applicants. All existing alternatives will continue to be accepted. Read more.

British Safety Council ends delivery of Level 1 Award

The British Safety Council (BSC) have announced that they have stopped delivering the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. CSCS will continue to accept past awards certified by the BSC. Other providers are also available. Read more.

IOSH launches new Health, Safety and Environment course

IOSH have introduced a new course called ‘Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers’ which will be accepted for the CSCS Labourer card. This replaces the IOSH Working Safely Course, which CSCS no longer accepts for the Labourer card. Read more.
