Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA) are offered to postgraduate research students undertaking a higher degree by research at the University of Sydney.

Preferences for Genomic Information in Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease
The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre is offering a full-time postgraduate scholarship available to candidates with a relevant qualification in economics, biostatistics or medicine. The aim of this proposed research program is to examine patient and family preferences for receiving genomic information in three areas: diagnostics (eg. inherited conditions); treatment (eg. where genomic information may benefit only a small proportion of the population) and prevention (where genomic information may motivate healthy behaviours). Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics or biostatistics and demonstrated health economics research/consulting experience. Frontotemporal Dementia and Motor Degenerative Syndromes Scholarship
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a pathologically heterogeneous group of disorders which show language and behavioural abnormalities, often in association with motor neuron disease. A scholarship is available to domestic students to undertake a full-time MPhil or PhD investigating the neuropathology of FTD under the supervision of Professor Jillian Kril. The research will be conducted in the neuropathology laboratory, Discipline of Pathology, Sydney Medical School. The award, commencing 2016, is for one year at the APA rate ($26,288), but may be extended subject to satisfactory progress. Further Details and How to Apply

Grants-in-aid Gillian Green Fieldwork Scholarship
Established in 2013 through a donation to the Asian Studies Program by Gillian Green, the Doctoral Fieldwork in Southeast Asia Scholarship supports Doctoral Students undertaking fieldwork in Southeast Asia, and its associated costs that relates directly to their research. Eligibility is confined to Doctoral Students conducting fieldwork in Southeast Asia that is essential to their research. The maximum grant amount is $3,000.00. Further Details and How to Apply

Business School Research Scholarships
The Business School is funding a stipend valued at $32,000, open to domestic and international (tuition fees covered) students. Commencing candidates must have formally applied for a place in the degree program (MPhil or PhD) by the closing dates (31st October 2016). Applicants will not be awarded a scholarship unless an offer to study in the program is also made. If a candidate is a continuing student time spent in the program will be deducted from the three year duration of the award. Applicants must not hold any other type of Scholarship when applying for Business School Scholarships. Further Details and How to Apply

The Near Eastern Archaeology Foundation is offering four grants to recent graduates of Australian or New Zealand Universities. These vary in value from $1500-$5000 and are designed to assist applicants to pursue research in regions across the globe. Further Details and How to Apply

Wine Australia PhD and Masters Scholarships
The Community Pharmacy – Research into Policy PHD Scholarship was created in 2016 to promote the integrity of the pharmacist as a public health professional. The scholarship is to be awarded to a student who will be undertaking full-time postgraduate study by research based at the Charles Perkins Centre and through the Faculty of Pharmacy. Eligible applicants must be Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, and Australian permanent resident, or a holder of a VISA that allows the applicant to enrol as a domestic student and have completed a Bachelor Degree with a first class honours degree (or H1 equivalent result e.g., MPhil) in Public Health, Pharmacy, Law or equivalent four year discipline, to undertake research studies leading to a Research Doctorate (PhD). The scholarship shall provide a stipend of $30,000 per annum. Further Details and How to Apply
